My name is Miguel Angel Fuentes, but everybody calls me MAF.
I´m a photographer-producer specialized in food, sports photography and product shots. Based in México but able to work anywhere.
I was born in Monterrey, Mexico; raised in Mexico and the US.
I´ve been in contact with art and photography ever since I can remember. My father was a photo enthusiast, architect, jewelry designer and antiques dealer.
Leicas, Nikons, Halliburton cases and oriental rugs were everyday objects for me.
As a high school senior, I started taking black and white photos and put up my own dark room. This is when I decided I wanted to be a professional photographer, and ever since I been studying light, color, composition, art and advertising.
Working and teaching at museums and art galleries gave me great knowledge about fine art photographers and their work as a form of expression.
My love for cooking got me into food styling, food photography and filmmaking. As a filmmaker I have collaborated in more than 50 TV ads, 10 movies and 3 major series. As a cinematographer I´ve done music videos and short films, but still photography is what I love to do.
In 2000 I got a bachelor’s degree in communication science at ITESM. I’m currently taking a master’s degree in sports journalism. This past 2024 I was certified as a legal expert in photography, film and video by the Poder Judicial del Estado de Nuevo Leon.
I’ve taken so many art and photography workshops across Mexico and the US.
